It's time to fill out your Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) if you're planning on going to a 2 year, 4 year, or technical college.  Click here to go to the FAFSA website.

Take Breaks!

Remember to take breaks after about 30 minutes of studying and sitting.  Get out of your chair, move around, go for a short walk, get your blood moving.  Take a 10 minute break and then get back to studying.

Welcome to Tenino High School Counseling Center

Our goal is to help students become college and career ready. Our counselor, Mrs. Dawn Dauer, assists students with not only their academic needs, but provides social/emotional support to help them be successful in high school and beyond.

If you need to reach Mrs. Dauer, don't hesitate to call at (360) 264-3525 or her email at email. Students may "drop-in" to see Mrs. Dauer before or after school, between classes and during lunch. Students may also sign up for an appointment.

Tenino High School hosts a College and Career Fair in November, and there are opportunities to visit individual colleges throughout the year. Representatives visit our campus on a regular basis. Please contact the counseling center about specific times and dates.

Dual Credit Programs

Dual Credit provides students with the potential to earn high school and college credit at the same time through successful completion of a course and/or corresponding exam.

Skill Centers are an integral part of an overall expansion of CTE programming in Washington. Skill centers are regional secondary schools that serve high school students from multiple school districts. They provide instruction in preparatory programs that are either too expensive or too specialized for school districts to operate individually. Tenino School District partners with New Market Skills Center in Tumwater. Visit their website by clicking on the logo below.

Running Start is intended to provide students a program option consisting of attendance at certain higher education institutions and the simultaneous earning of high school and college/university credit. Students in grades 11 and 12 can take college courses at South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) or Centralia Community College. Learn more about Running Start by visiting the links/logos below.

At Tenino High School, we use a great college and career searching program called "Washington Career Bridge." We encourage students to use it to help them find a career they're interested in, learn about it, and find where they can earn a degree in that field anywhere in the US.
