To our community:

First, I want to share that our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by 138th Fire. Please know that our district works closely with all agencies during an emergency to support the response efforts.

Second, I want to thank all the volunteers who responded to support families who may have needed temporary shelter. Thurston County Emergency Management (TCEM) was in immediate communication with me, and I assembled a team of district administrators to support opening Tenino High School as shelter. I’m proud to say that we were fully ready to provide temporary shelter to any community member in need within minutes of receiving the call from TCEM.

Finally, I want to bring awareness to our community about some very important resources that are available. Being ready for an emergency is critical to reducing loss and TCEM has many resources available for emergency planning and preparedness.

Thank you for your time and continued support. The Tenino School District prides itself on being of service to our community.

Again, thank you to the countless volunteers who help in times of emergency.

All the best,
