welcome back

Hello Tenino Elementary Families!

I hope you had a great summer!  Our staff is excited to welcome students and families to the new school year.  We will continue our emphasis on strong academics and positive behavior by teaching and practicing our Guidelines for Success:  Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, BE KIND.  Please remember that every Friday is SPIRIT FRIDAY.  Teachers and students have fun wearing T9O or favorite sports gear.  Families can order Tenino Elementary Spirit Gear at teninoptsa.itemorder.com. Items must be ordered by September 21st. Hurry so you can show your T90 Pride.  Thank you PTSA!!!

Here’s some updates and reminders.  Let’s continue working together for our students, our teachers, and our awesome community.  It’s going to be a great year!

  • Safety Guidelines: We will continue to be diligent regarding cleanliness and safety.  Students will be required to wash hands frequently and we will be wiping down tables and desks regularly.  Masks are optional and all choices regarding masks will be respected.  As always, be sure to keep your child home if they are symptomatic.  Contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.
  • Breakfast and Lunch:  We are pleased to announce that Tenino Elementary will be participating in the federal program Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) available to select schools as a part of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. All students who attend Tenino Elementary will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of family or household income.
  • Drop-Off:  Drop off students beginning at 8:00.  Students can go directly into the school building or go to breakfast.  Breakfast is served in the school cafeteria.  Parents are allowed to walk students into the school building.  If you are interested in doing so, please follow these guidelines:
  • Enter and exit the building through the main entrance
  • Wish your child a good day, give a quick hug and exit the building no later than 8:20
  • Park in a designated parking spot, not in the parent drop off/pick up lines
  • This will be for the first three days only
  • Thanks in advance for your support in getting the day started smoothly
  • Pick Up:  Teachers walk students to buses and the parent pick up area at the end of the day.  Please be aware that our pickup area is limited and can be very crowded.  To keep everyone safe, we ask you to exercise patience and follow staff directions.  You might also arrange to park in the neighborhood nearby school and have your child meet you at your car.

I want to thank our community for your support over the past few years.  We have met challenges and stayed focused on our number one priority:  the health and well-being of our students, families, and staff.  Your support is very much appreciated.  Contact our office if you have any questions.  Go Tigers and On Tenino!!!
