The District would like to clarify the Governor's recent proclamation. K-12 schools ARE NOT impacted by the new restrictions. We can maintain our current model of in-person service combined with remote learning. While we have students and staff members on campus the District is complying with every local health department regulation to prevent the chance of transmitting COVID-19.
I know we all look forward to the return to 'normal' schooling, whatever that looks like in the future. Until then, remember to wear masks/face coverings when around others, wash your hands, and maintain physical distancing. Hopefully, doing these things will return to a normal schedule sooner than later.
Stay well,
Joe Belmonte, Superintendent

Dear Tenino Families:
Thurston County Superintendents met this week with the Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Health Officer Dr. Abdelmalek. During the past two weeks, COVID transmissions in the county have continued to rise. As a result, we will continue to serve students in the current instructional model. The current remote learning model will continue through December of 2020. To read Dr. Abdelmalek’s most recent letter click the following link:

I am disappointed that we will not be able to transition to more in-person learning for your children. That said, because we have been teaching small groups of students in-person and safely, we will continue to provide these services. Finally, we will continue to plan and prepare for in-person instruction and will be ready to transition to in-person learning when permitted.
Thank you for your support and patience. As always, if you or your child need support during online learning please connect with your child’s teacher or your child’s school principal.
We will continue to communicate updates as they occur.
Be well,
Joe Belmonte, Superintende

Dear Tenino Families:
Thurston County Superintendents met early this morning with the Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Health Officer Dr. Abdelmalek. During the past two weeks, COVID transmissions in the county have continued to rise. As a result, we will continue to postpone transitioning to an in-person hybrid instructional model. The current remote learning model will continue during this time. This current postponement will be reassessed on November 6, 2020. Importantly, if the current rates of transmission continue at the same level or rise, we will be required to maintain our current remote learning model through first semester which is January 29, 2021.
I am disappointed that we will not be able to transition to more in-person learning for your children. That said, because we have been teaching small groups of high needs students in-person and safely, we are permitted to continue providing these services. Finally, we will continue to plan and prepare for hybrid instruction and will be ready to transition to in-person learning when permitted.
Thank you for your support and patience as we work together as a community to focus on returning our students to school. If you or your child need support during online learning please connect with your child’s teacher or your child’s school principal.
We will continue to communicate updates as they occur.
Be well,
Joe Belmonte, Superintendent
