On behalf of the Tenino School District, we want to celebrate and thank Bus Driver, Richard Wells for FORTY-TWO YEARS of service to Tenino students!!
Richard served in the military and was a fire chief for many years. He began his bus driving days on September 1, 1982 and retired last month on December 31, 2024! Thank you Richard for so many wonderful years of service to our students and community. Enjoy your retirement!

On Friday we are encouraging our students and staff to wear their Red, White and Blue to help celebrate our local VFW Members who will be here for our Friday Morning Assembly. They will be presenting one of our teachers with the "Teacher of the Year" Award.

Our students that attend school regularly and on-time had the greatest student growth in both Math and Reading during our last iReady Assessments this month. Attendance Matters.

Book Exchange is coming at the end of the month....start looking for those books you no longer want or need.

What is chronic absenteeism?
Chronic absenteeism means missing too much school—for any reason—excused or unexcused. Experts and a growing number of states define chronic absenteeism as missing 10% (or around 18 days) during a school year.
Thank you Parkside Families for helping those in need during the holiday season. We reached out goal of 1,000 food items for our local food bank. This year Parkside brought in 1,183 items. THANK YOU!!
Join the fun this Friday! Just down the street from Parkside Elementary School. 3:30-4:30

Tenino School District staff members are finding ways to bridge the funding gap to help enrich and enhance our students' educational experiences. One way to accomplish this is by applying for grants.
We are excited to announce several PES staff members and one TES staff member who received mini-grants from the Thurston County School Retirees' Association. Congratulations to PES staff: Karla Zehm ($100), Raelynn Goodwin ($100), Kristi Schow ($100) and Colleen Taylor ($250) and TES staff: Samantha Lawton ($100).
In addition, Kathy Slease and Karla Zehm were each awarded $200 from the TwinStar Credit Union Classroom Cash Grant.
